Michael Dworkin, President

Board Member

Mr. Dworkin is the Managing Partner of Avialex Law Group, LLP, a San Francisco, California law firm specializing in aviation matters providing clients with a wide range of legal services on a nationwide and worldwide basis. He is admitted to the District of Columbia and California Bars and has been practicing law for 45 years. He is also a certified mediator.

Prior to establishing his firm, Michael was staff counsel to the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles and for United Airlines in San Francisco. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with Honors in Government from Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) with Honors from The George Washington University’s National Law Center in Washington, D.C.    

From February 2000 through May 2002, Michael served as President of the Washington, D.C. based National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association (now the International Air and Transportation Safety Bar Association).  From February 2008 through February 2014, he served as Executive Vice President of that Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Bar Association of San Francisco, Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, National Business Aviation Association, and Commonwealth Club of California, and a charter benefactor of the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, California. He has spoken at aviation industry and legal conferences throughout the US and the world. Michael is a long time member and supporter of NCBAA.



Craig Bowers, Vice President

Board Member

Craig is the Managing Director of JetForward Aviation, an executive aviation acquisition, sales and consulting firm located In San Jose, CA. They focus on helping clients navigate the increasingly complex private aviation marketplace in areas such as optimizing travel investment by best-fit analysis, market research and contract negotiation across the ownership spectrum. 

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science Degree in Aviation Systems from the University of Tennessee. Prior to founding JetForward Aviation, he served as the Western Regional Sales Director for XOJet Aviation. Most recently, Craig was the VP of Sales & Customer Service for ICON Aircraft, a light sport aircraft manufacturer in Vacaville, CA. A former Marine aviator, military test pilot and commercial airline pilot, Craig holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating with over 3300 hours in 35 different aircraft. He has over 300 aircraft carrier landings and operational experience in worldwide Part 91, 121 and 135 flight operations. 

Craig holds patents in flight deck display systems and is a recipient of the Aviation Week & Space Technology Laurels Award for his work in the advancement of ADS-B flight technology. Craig is an active general aviation pilot and outdoor enthusiast.   

 


Matthew Wright, Treasurer

Board Member

Matthew is the Vice President and General Manager for the Monterey Fuel Company, LLC in Monterey, California. Wright has been managing FBO’s since 2006, previously in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Anchorage, and Jackson Hole. 

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and Doctor of Law degree from the University of Nebraska. Prior to pursuing his passion in aviation, Wright was a practicing attorney in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Wright has served as an Executive Director for the Scottsdale Chamber, a Transportation Commissioner for the City of Scottsdale, and past President of the Arizona Business Aviation Association. He currently sits on the board of the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University – Prescott's Business Industry Advisory Board.



Martha Folliott, Secretary

Board Member

Martha is Executive Assistant and Facility Coordinator for the aviation department at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE).  She has worked in the corporate aviation field for 15 years. Her experience includes site facility management, procurement, safety, security, technology and event planning. Martha partners closely with the flight ops, in-flight services, and maintenance and dispatch teams.

Prior to joining the HPE aviation team, Martha worked as an office manager for a biotech startup company and has held previous administrative positions at Hewlett-Packard in finance, fleet service and document control.

Martha is a member of the National Business Aviation Association, Women in Business Aviation and the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She enjoys diverse experiences and is rewarded by the friendships and business partners she makes. Martha is a native to Silicon Valley. She enjoys volunteering and feels fortunate to work with people and organizations that make a difference.


 

Erik Singh, Mentoring Committee Co-Chair

Erik is a Senior Flight Technician for Chevron’s Corporate Aviation Services.  Erik has previously been the Safety Advisor for Aviation Services at Chevron, and was the Ground Safety Officer for Northrop Grumman Aviation Division.  

In 2012, Erik completed his program certificate in Aviation Safety and Security from USC Viterbi School of Engineering, the gold standard of aviation safety management. Erik has been responsible for the development and implementation of standards, procedure and regulatory requirements within multiple business aviation departments. He is a root cause analysis facilitator, with a highlighted focus to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks within a highly complex organization. Additionally, Erik is a Master Technician on Gulfstream G-IV and G550 aircraft.  

Erik has been a keynote speaker for the NCBAA, and is an advocate for aviation community involvement.


 

Ric Coleman, Mentoring Committee Co-Chair



Bob Trevelyan, Safety Committee Chair

Bob has over  20 years aviation experience to include 7 years as a Safety Management System (SMS) consultant. He actively participates in safety related development working with the FAA SMS Focus Group, IS-BAO, ACSF, and other regulatory and aviation organizations.

As an Aviation Safety advocate (SMS) he has been working with airlines, corporate and private aviation, cargo operators, FBO’s, Manufacturers, and MRO’s implementing Aviation Safety, Risk, Quality Conformance, Compliance and Audit management solutions.  He has extensive experience in documentation compliance, gap analysis to regulations and process/procedure audit and corrective action. Actively supports technology components to support voluntary and safety management programs such as LOSA, ASAP, and FOQA, etc.

He has consulted extensively in the global airline industry in maintenance & engineering, marketing, operations, airport operations, sales, frequent flyer and loyalty, pricing and advanced yield management strategies and approaches. Representative Travel & Transportation companies where he has been involved include the world’s largest airlines, package delivery companies, railroads and Global Distribution Systems.

Bob has held positions as President, Sextant Readings Solutions Inc.; Vice President, Sales and Marketing, ATP Compliance and Safety Solutions; Vice President, Professional Services, Teradata Canada; Managing Director, Trevelyan Group LLC.



Bob Lenox, Advocacy Committee Chair

Bob has been involved in aviation since his teens, learning to fly at the Palo Alto Airport while still in high school. Bob has flown part 91 &135 aircraft for his entire career, and is currently International Captain on a Gulfstream V.

Bob was a founding member of the Palo Alto Airport Association; his family aircraft is based there. He was recruited by the AOPA to be the Airport Support Network volunteer for Palo Alto Airport (PAO).  Based on his work in Palo Alto, Bob was asked to join the national Board of Advisors for the ASN program on which he served for a decade. Bob sat on the Santa Clara County Airports Commission for over 16 years. During that time, he helped navigate many issues involving City, County, State and Federal jurisdictions.

Bob is a graduate of UC Berkeley, and has over 21,000 accident, incident and violation-free flight hours in his logbook. Besides his membership in the NCBAA, he is a member of the NBAA, AOPA, California Pilots Association, and EAA.



Michelle Glogovac, Sponsorship Chair

Michelle has nearly 20 years of business aviation experience, specializing in fuel and FBOs. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Law & Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara and will graduate in 2019 with her Masters of Science in Law. Michelle was the co-chair of the Southern & Northern California (SONO) board for a decade and also served on the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee. She has worked with World Fuel Services creating their FBO business development plan and fuel sales, as well as with Rockwell Collins in expanding their contract fuel program. 

Michelle is the owner of My Simplified Events, specializing in event planning and management, is a Cause Entrepreneur with ONEHOPE Wine and maintains a wine blog, My Simplified Life. She resides in San Jose with her husband, Ted, and their four children.



 

Shannon Rupe, Membership Chair

Shannon is Senior Project Manager at Gray Stone Advisors, a consulting firm that assists aviation businesses successfully prepare for and implement change. Shannon specializes in optimized operations through process development and data analysis.

Prior to joining Gray Stone Advisors, Shannon founded Vivid Aviation, a business aviation consultancy that managed operations for aviation start-ups and private aircraft operators. For seven years previously, she held roles in flight scheduling and dispatch management at HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise's corporate flight department in San Jose, California. 

Shannon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management and Flight from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, FAA-licensed Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, Aircraft Dispatcher, and Remote Pilot. 

Shannon has served on Jeppesen’s Business Aviation Customer Advisory Board and Dispatch Recurrent Training Board of Advisors.  She is an active member of regional business aviation groups and community outreach volunteer.
